Sponsor Information
CRFMHA is proud to announce our first jersey sponsor: Optimind TMS Treatment Centres
Optimind is locally owned and operated by Founder and CEO Kim Meyer. Madison Meyer is her daughter, and colleague as Optimind’s Clinical Education Director.
Maddy grew up playing hockey, and they are well versed in the challenges female players have been faced with in the past. Madison started her hockey career at age 9 on the inaugural female team in Parksville. A love of the game, and a love of being in net, led to the joys and the distinct struggles of just getting to play hockey as a female. Maddy played for the Mid Island Extreme starting at age 12, and in the competitive and recreational female programs as they existed sporadically over her high school years. The lack of female hockey programming meant some years she played “co-ed”, often as the only female on the team and in one memorable case as the only female player at a tournament.
Kim and Madison are excited to partner with CRFMHA to help provide hockey opportunities for girls in the CRD that were not available to Maddy as a young player.
(Besides hockey) their other passion is the world-class treatment they have brought to Victoria through their physician-directed clinic: Optimind. Optimind provides Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation (TMS) services to treat depression, anxiety, PTSD, OCD, and memory & cognition.
Madison has her BSc Psyc from UVic and TMS training from Harvard Medical. You can learn more at myoptimind.ca
A huge thank you to Kim, Madison and Optimind for supporting female youth hockey in the CRD. Welcome to the Victoria Reign!
